Wiemelhausen stretches from Bochum's city centre to the boundary of the popular residential district of Stiepel. It is one of the most attractive residential areas in Bochum. Wiemelhausen is a really varied area, offering various micro locations, from quiet side streets to attractive livelier areas nearer the city centre. The more lively urban part houses the Schauspielhaus theatre. The Musikzentrum Bochum is the Bochum Symphoniker's concert hall and also features a hall for the municipal music school. The site of the former Prinz Regent coal mine now enjoys varied uses: as well as new industry, the Prinz Regent theatre and a nightclub can also be found there. Transport connections: the Oviedo-Ring ring road is located in the district, the U35 underground line takes you to Querenburg, the city centre and Herne, and from Ehrenfeld rail station you can catch the S1 to Düsseldorf and Dortmund.
